Community Nursing Service
We give holistic care to the poor, elderly, terminally ill and the physically and mentally disabled in the low-income groups. We support and assist individuals with all of their needs. We are committed to ensuring each individual’s right to dignity and respect.
The SHARE Foundation was registered as a UK Charity on 8th July 2002 and is registered charity number 1092836. The SHARE Foundation in Sri Lanka has been an approved Charity since 25th August 2006. The ultimate objective is to expand the service to similar areas in the country and also to other third world countries as and when adequate funding and resources are available.

Mrs Celine Samarasinhe
Celine Samarasinhe is a District Nursing Sister, a Sri Lankan by birth and currently residing in London, United Kingdom.
Having had over 35 years of experience with the National Health Service of the United Kingdom, she strongly believed it was the right time to initiate a Community Nursing Service for the underprivileged in Sri Lanka.
In addition to her qualifications in nursing, Celine is a certified counsellor and a qualified beautician. It is her vision to use her knowledge and experience to help those who are not as fortunate in her homeland and other third world countries.
Celine hopes to fulfil her mission through the generosity of those who support her in this challenging and rewarding task that she has chosen to undertake.
SHARE is blessed with many volunteers in U.K. as well as in Sri Lanka. The team consists of the Trustees, the Members of the Board in all three Projects in Sri Lanka, the volunteer Medical Officers who visit patients in their homes as well as in the Clinics and the Clergy in various religions who support and are involved in providing religious activities and counselling to the vulnerable. We also have volunteers who help with the day-to-day activities, the running of the projects and also with our fundraising activities.
The nursing care is delivered to each project by a qualified and committed multidisciplinary team consisting of nursing sisters, staff nurses, social workers, physiotherapists and care assistants.
Our priority has been to create a great place to work for our employees at each of the four projects. The structured and effective management of staff/volunteers has been fundamental to the success of SHARE in achieving its aims and overall positive mission.
The projects are monitored by SHARE Foundation Project Manager, Mr. Jerard Karunanithi who co-ordinates with the Project Director, Mrs. Celine Samarasinhe.
